In April 2009 Tony Abbate founded Granite Value Capital, LLC. He has over 22 years of experience as an analyst and portfolio manager. Tony has thoroughly studied the teachings of the value investment philosophy set forth by Benjamin Graham and Warren Buffett. From this study he started applying the teachings of Graham and Buffett to his personal accounts. (See the Return Information tab.) This investment framework is the foundation of how assets are managed at Granite Value Capital, LLC.
Most recently Tony worked for nine years in the position of Vice President, Portfolio Manager at U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management in Hanover, NH. He was responsible for the investment management of $200 million for 120 high-net worth and institutional clients.
Tony is a 1992 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Finance and Business Economics. In 1997 he earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the Boston Security Analysts Society.
Outside of work, Tony enjoys volunteering and athletic activity. He cooks dinners for the Listen Community Dinner Program, is a member of the Sports Venue Foundation Finance Committee, a member of the Montshire Annual Fund Committee, a member of the Howe Library Corporation, a member of the Montshire Museum Corporation, a member of Hanover Rotary and coaches his sons’ soccer teams. He is a die-hard Cubs fan, enjoys playing hockey, jogging, hiking, golf, poker and cooking. He lives in Hanover, NH with his wife and four sons.

Marlene joined Granite Value Capital, LLC as a Relationship Administrator in July 2009. She assists in managing the firm's operations and helping clients with their cash needs.
Marlene has over 35 years of experience in the financial services industry. Most recently she worked for 23 years in the Private Wealth Management division of Indian Head Banks, Fleet and Bank of America as an Assistant Vice President and Trust Administration Officer.
Marlene is a 1976 graduate of Lebanon High School. In 1993, Marlene graduated from the American Bankers Association’s New England School of Banking Trust Program at Williams College. In 2000, she graduated from the ABA New England School of Banking Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University, and earned her professional designation of Certified Trust and Financial Advisor.
Marlene is a member of the Connecticut Valley Estate Planning Council, and currently is serving a three year term as Trustee of Trust Funds for the town of Lyme NH. She served two years on the Review and Allocation Committee of the United Way of the Upper Valley, and is a past volunteer with both the Grafton and Sullivan County Adult Tutorial Programs. She is also a past volunteer with the Mentor Program through LISTEN Community Services in Lebanon, NH. She lives in Lyme, NH with her husband, daughter and stepson.
