Anthony J. Abbate, CFA
In April 2009 Tony Abbate founded Granite Value Capital, LLC. He has been an analyst and portfolio manager since 1992. Tony has thoroughly studied the teachings of the value investment philosophy set forth by Benjamin Graham and Warren Buffett. This investment framework is the foundation of how assets are managed at Granite Value Capital. Prior to founding Granite Value Capital, Tony worked for nine years in the position of Vice President, Portfolio Manager at U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management in Hanover, NH. He was responsible for the investment management of $200 million for 120 high-net worth and institutional clients.
Tony is a 1992 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Finance and Business Economics. In 1997 he earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the Boston Security Analysts Society.
Outside of work, Tony enjoys volunteering and athletic activity. He cooks dinners for the Listen Community Dinner Program, is a member of the Sports Venue Foundation Finance Committee, a member of the Montshire Annual Fund Committee, a member of the Howe Library Corporation, a member of the Montshire Museum Corporation, a member of the Hanover Improvement Society and coaches his sons’ soccer teams. He is a die-hard Cubs fan, enjoys playing soccer, jogging, hiking, golf, poker and cooking. He lives in Hanover, NH with his wife and four sons.Why Select a CFA Charterholder?
Marlene joined Granite Value Capital as a Relationship Administrator in July 2009. She assists in managing the firm's operations and specializes in working closely with clients to meeting their daily and long-term financial needs and goals.
Marlene has over 40 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Granite Value Capital, Marlene worked for 23 years in the Private Wealth Management division of Indian Head Banks, Fleet, Bank of America and, finally, US Trust Wealth Management with a focus on Trust and account administration.
Marlene is a 1976 graduate of Lebanon High School. In 1993, Marlene graduated from the American Bankers Association’s New England School of Banking Trust Program at Williams College. In 2000, she graduated from the ABA New England School of Banking Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University. While working in the banking industry, Marlene held the professional designation of Certified Trust and Financial Advisor.
Marlene has served as a member of the Connecticut Valley Estate Planning Council, and was formerly elected to serve as a Trustee of Trust Funds for the town of Lyme NH. She also volunteers locally for various community committees and organizations. Marlene lives in Lyme, NH.
